LYNDON’S COMMUNITY CHALLENGE
2.2 WALK FOR YOU
We have been challenged by the Town of Danville to complete a community group event that will sponsor a local organization that helps the people of our community.
We have chosen to Walk for You – A walk to raise money and awareness for residents near and far that have been affected by Cancer so that we may help more people become Cancer Survivors. All monies will go to:
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center North is a dedicated cancer care and survivorship facility. It provides patients in New Hampshire's North Country and Vermont's Northeast Kingdom with advanced technology and state-of-the-art treatment within a friendly, patient-centered environment close to home. Specific treatments are developed for patients in coordination with local health care facilities or Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, and in conjunction with the referring physician, patient, and family. Discoveries in the laboratories and clinical facilities at Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Lebanon are available to patients in St. Johnsbury through clinical trials of new treatments, diagnostic techniques, and other research areas. They also offer a comprehensive cancer resource library to all patients, families, and the community.
Join us in Bandstand Park – Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 10 am. We will walk the Stevens Loop which is 2.2 miles back to Bandstand Park. Registration will start at 9 am at the gazebo. Morning snacks will be available. We will then challenge 2 more communities to take on a cause that is important to them and their community!
You've asked for it, and we are very excited to announce that the Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce has added a Fuel Oil Discount from Irving Oil to our list of benefits for our members!
Many of you have already benefited from the generous propane discount offered by Amerigas through the Chamber. Now you will be able to take advantage of discounted heating oil. Even though the temperatures are warm now, fall is just around the corner so it's a great time to lock in at the discounted rate!
If you would like to take advantage of the savings, please contact Lori McGarity, Irving Commercial Sales, to set up your account with them. Lori will have a list of paid Lyndon Chamber members in good standing. Lori's number is: 1-888-573-7987 or you can email her at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Lori is going to be emailing the current price to our chamber members. If you do not wish to receive these emails, just let her know.
There's even more good news with this discount! If you refer a business that is not currently a Lyndon Chamber member and they join the Chamber and set up an account with Irving you will receive a $100 credit with Irving (after the business has taken one delivery)!!!! Doesn't that give you a warm feeling? Information and forms to join the Lyndon Area Chamber can be found on our website: www.lyndonvermont.com, or you can call us at 626-9696.
The Chamber will need a slate of officers for the 2014/2015 year. If you are interested in serving as an officer of the Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce, please contact us at email@example.com.
The Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce holds monthly meetings at the Cobleigh Library and at other locations around town. Meeting times and locations are posted in our monthly newsletter, which is mailed and emailed to members the week prior to the monthly meeting. We encourage members to join us for our meetings, and to keep us posted on events so we can add them to this website. Businesses and individuals who are interested in becoming members of the Lyndon Area Chamber of Commerce should call the Chamber at 802-626-9696 to request a membership registration form, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will mail one out to you.
As a reminder, the Chamber's fiscal year was changed to November 1 to October 31. Please remember that LACC paid members in good standing have access to a significant savings on Amerigas propane as a benefit of membership. If you use propane, Robin Hamel at Amerigas at 626-8595 and see how much you can save (average savings=50%).
