The Town of Lyndon has openings on several volunteer boards that benefit our community. Please take a minute to look at the offerings listed below to see if one would be a good fit for you to help us out. Volunteer at the Welcome Center & Information Booth

If you know the Lyndon area and enjoy meeting people, the Lyndon Chamber of Commerce has the volunteer opportunity for you.  Help staff the Welcome Center and Information Booth by volunteering a few hours a week or once a month.  The Booth is open Thursday-Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday, 10 to 2.  Meet and greet new and returning visitors to the area, provide suggestions and directions to activities and places to eat and stay, and make their stop a memorable one.  Call 626-9696 for more information.

Representative to Northeastern Vermont Development Association

There is one opening on this board for a 1 year term. Meetings are held quarterly. Primary responsibility is to represent Lyndon at the regional planning and economic development agency. 

Representative to Rural Community Transportation

There is an opening for a 1 year term. Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 11:30 AM. Primary responsibilities are to oversee the activities and finances of RCT.

OTHER Opportunities in Lyndon:


The LOC board meets once per month, year round, on the first Monday of each month at 6pm. If the Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting is moved to Monday of the following week. Primary responsibilities include management of the Lyndon Outing Club and Shonyo Park area. Board members are responsible for maintenance of the buildings and grounds, fund raising, operation of the ski/ride hill and kitchen during winter months, setting up/hosting special events year round, rental of the lodge and more. LOC needs more board members and welcomes youth ages 16 and up to serve on the board as well. For more information, contact Sue Teske at 802-626-5653 or 802-274-2951.

The Lyndon meal site is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals. In order to apply to be a driver you must contact Rural Community Transport (RCT) as this company will complete a background check and the authorization to drive. Volunteers are reimbursed mileage through RCT. 751-8540
