The Burke Mountain Club Invites you to learn about Genealogy.

Wednesday, November 20th, at 7:00 pm at the Burke Mountain Club (In the Center of East Burke) 368 Vermont Route 144, East Burke Vermont

On Wednesday, November 20th at 7 pm the Burke Mountain Club presents Bob Amos in a program entitled "Genealogy and Genetics: How DNA can help your family tree". Bob will give a summary of modern genealogical research and demonstrate how the recent availability of DNA tests has changed and added to the field of genealogy. Various types of DNA tests will be described, and two case studies will be presented to show how these different types of genetic tests can be useful when combined with conventional genealogical research.

Bob Amos is well known in our area as a musician and songwriter, but for the last 25 years, he has also been conducting professional level genealogical research on his own family history as well as helping others unravel theirs. In his own family, Bob has discovered three mayflower lines, multiple veterans of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, as well as a family member who was a neighbor and friend to Harriet Tubmans in her later years.
