Summer is unfolding across the Northeast Kingdom! It’s getting green around here and the focus is shifting to all the outside activities the area has to offer. Biking, hiking, pristine lakes, concerts, kayaking, farmer’s markets and festivals and so much more….all set in one of the most beautiful natural regions on the planet.

This year, Lyndon’s 39th Annual Stars and Stripes Festival and Parade is a “Top Ten Summer Event” as chosen by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. The Festival is held on Saturday, July 20th and boasts a HUGE parade at 10 am and music, food, and fun for the whole family in beautiful Bandstand Park the rest of the day. You never know who you will see at the Stars and Stripes!

Other popular summer events include the Burklyn Arts Craft Fair on July 6th, the Leavitt Amp free concert series at Dog Mountain and performances at the Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover. Check our events page for all the goings on.

Summer is to be savored, whether visiting or planning a fun and relaxing “staycation”. Slow down, breathe deep and take it all in. Whether you find yourself in a berry patch with strawberry stained fingers, enjoying a scenic vista from the top of a ridge, or at the reel end of a fishing pole…take time to savor it. Do it all, or nothing at all….that’s the beauty of it!
