CRECHE RESTORATION GOING WELL
With the passing of the 2005 Christmas season, the historical figures of the Lyndon Nativity Scene have begun their badly need restoration process.
Local businessman, Kevin Towle, is restoring the figures by hand, with reports of great success. The first figure to undergo restoration, a shepherd, has already been
completed, and Mr. Towle expects to be able to restore one figure a month. At this rate, the full Nativity Scene will be restored for the 2006 Christmas season. Many thanks
go out to Kevin Towle for his generous volunteer efforts in restoring figures that have been a part of the Lyndonville Christmas season for more than half a century.
Below are the first pictures available of the restoration process.

The restoration process begins. A badly broken figure is pieced back together and the holes are filled with material (silver) to support the bonding agent.

The bonding process continues.

The figure has been made whole and is ready for additional work.

The sanding process, done by hand, has made the figure look like new.

A completely restored figure is ready for painting.
