Vermont's Digital Future Conference
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Description:Join digital leaders and Vermonters statewide to set the path for Internet technology use in our state that will create jobs, enliven our communities, reinvent schools and increase citizen participation. We will convene individuals and groups to create priorities and action steps, leading to the expansion of opportunities in all sectors of our state.

Governor Peter Shumlin will kick off the event with a welcome address that highlights state broadband projects, and how his administration supports expanded access to technology, training and resources.

The conference keynote speaker will be Nicco Mele, a leading expert in the integration of social media and Web 2.0 with politics, business and communications, and webmaster for Governor Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign.

 

All Vermonters have a stake in ensuring their communities embrace broadband as it expands across our state. Your participation is critical to creating a Connected Vermont!

The Townwide Yard Sale is Saturday, May 12th. Have a sale yourself or go out for a little local treasure hunting! It's Mother's Day Weekend also, so grab Mom and go out yard saling and other local shopping, then have a nice lunch at a local restaurant! You never know where you'll find a bargain!

Northeast Kingdom Farm to Yarn Tour
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM



A FREE two day event! Visit NEK fiber producing farms and learn about where local fiber originates and how the animals are lovingly raised and cared for. Farm activities include tours, meeting the critters, knitting and spinning demos and more. Visit one or several farms as you choose.Refreshments and additional demonstrations will be available at Mountain Fiber Folk in Montgomery on Saturday and Sunday.
